CHILD SAFETY PROGRAMME AT BAMBOOLA SCHOOL - CHENNAI
Last month a four year old child died while eating a piece of banana fruit. When the news appeared in local dailies and media, it gave a lot of shock wave in every household and every mother was invariably panicked and they were all worried about the health aspect of their precious innocent young children. PRIMEX SCANS AND LABS - a chennai based medical firm was very much concerned about the safety aspect of these young and innocent kids. They immeadiately arranged a child - safety programme for the mothers, parents and teachers at Bamboola school in adayar.
DR.HABIBULLAH consultant paediatrician and adolescent psychologist of chennai was asked by the management to conduct an awareness programme for parents and teachers at Bamboola school. when the programmae is over I got an opportunity to meet a polite, modest and an energetic noble lady, Mrs.Nitya Varadarajan, managing editor of the prestigious 'PARENT CIRCLE' magazine. She was simply sitting with the parents in the back row and was taking some notes. I thought she was a teacher. To my surprise she happened to be the managing editor of the above said magazine. Very simple woman indeed. She politely asked me would I prefer to give an interview to her magazine over phone. I was little bit reluctant to reply to her question, but gave my conscent. Within two days her junior Mrs.Shaswathi telephoned me and asked many questions concerned with child-safety measures. In fact I have not read Parent Circle magazine before. When I got the magazine, I wonder how did I miss reading the great educative magazine. I very honestly suggest that every mother should regularly read this wonderful magazine and invite others to read and understand it. A good magazine, that devote its attention totally to educate parents, teachers and young children.
